Snowmobile
tours
40 Klicks Of Freedom (by
shared snowmobile):
Learn to master the vehicle that gives you a sense of freedom on
a 40km long snowmobile safari in Lapland's virgin forests.

In The Arctic Taiga Forest (by shared snowmobile):
Enjoy a snowmobile tour (c.40km) into the
Arctic wilderness where moose gather and graze. The tour will include a stop at
a wilderness camp and a light lunch.

Northern Lights Tour (by shared snowmobile):
In cooperation with the Swedish Institute of
Space Physics we offer a snowmobile excursion in search of the magical Northern
Lights (c.35km). Our trained guides will tell you truths and tales about the
celestial phenomenon. A three course dinner is served in a wilderness camp.
- Duration: 4 hours
- Departures: 1900-2300hrs until March 28 (Daily) and 2000-2400hrs between
29 March and 16 April (Daily)
- Price: £195.00 per person* / £98.00 per child (aged 4-12yrs)

Arctic Wildlife Safari (by shared snowmobile):
This excursion is offered in collaboration
with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the ICEMOOSE project.
Along with a local guide, this tour (c.40km) takes you through magnificent
mountain landscapes and will teach you about the local wildlife Ð in particular
about what impact the moose has on the Swedish mountain climate and how to trace
their tracks Ð and the surrounding nature. Transfers and lunch are included.
- Duration: 6 hours
- Departures: 0900-1500hrs (Daily)
- Price: £300.00 per person* / £150.00 per child (aged 4-12yrs)

Overnight Tour And Search For The Northern Lights
(driving your own snowmobile):
Surrounded by dense, snow covered forests this
guided snowmobile tour (c.30km) will take you to a wilderness camp where you
spend the night and have access to a wood-fired sauna. Dinner and breakfast are
included.
- Duration: 17 hours
- Departures: Friday and Saturday only. Depart 1700hrs and return at
1000hrs the following day.
- Price: £465.00 per person

General comments:
Each tour is led by one experienced guide per eight snowmobiles.
All guides are trained and hold the Swedish Transport Board's permission
to work as a snowmobile guide.
Helmets are provided to all participants.
The rental of snowmobile overalls, shoes, hat and gloves is included.
You are seated 2 persons per snowmobile unless a supplement is paid for
a private snowmobile. One person is required to drive the vehicle.
The minimum age to drive a snowmobile is 18 years old. A valid driving
licence is required.
The suggested minimum age for a snowmobile passenger is 13 years old.
One child is permitted per paying adult.
Minimum of 2 participants.
An excess of 8000SEK is payable in the event of an accident/damage to
the snowmobile.
The consumption of alcohol is not permitted if driving.
Comments:
- The rental of snowmobile overalls, boots, gloves and a helmet are
included.
- The minimum age to drive a snowmobile is 18 years old. A valid driving
licence is required.
- Minimum of 2 participants. Maximum of 16 participants or 8 snowmobiles.

Dog sled tours
The Story Of Huskies:
Take a seat in the sled, experience the howling dogs
and then the silence when the journey begins (c.20km). Coffee and cake served
over a camp fire is included.

- Departures: 0930-1100hrs or 1300-1430hrs (Daily)

Everyday Life Of A Musher:
Traverse the snow covered landscape behind a team of
huskies (c.30km) to a wilderness camp where lunch is served. This excursion will
give you an insight into the everyday life of a musher and will include a visit
to a kennel.

- Departures: 1115-1515hrs (Daily)
- Price: £300.00 per person* / £150.00 per child (aged 4-12yrs)

Overnight Tour and Search For
The Northern Lights (drive your own dog sled):
Drive your own team of huskies on an exciting dog sled
adventure. The tour begins at the kennel and your overnight stay is in a
wilderness camp with access to a wood-fired sauna. Dinner and breakfast are
included.
- Duration: 19 ½ hours
- Departures: Daily. Depart 1700hrs and return at 1100hrs the following

Notes:
- The sled is used to transport personal belongings (and not for
passengers).
- Each sled is pulled by approximately 4 dogs.
- Approximately 75 minutes are driving the sled in each direction.
Horse riding tours
Moose Safari:
At the foot of Sweden's highest mountain, Kebnekaise,
we ride our Icelandic horses out into the moose winter grazing land in search of
the king of the Lappish forest - the moose. Transfers and a traditional lunch at
a local farm are included.

- Departures: 0900-1500hrs (Daily)

the winter night, in search of the Northern Lights and moose. Transfers and a

between 01 March and 14 April (Daily)

The rental of winter overalls, shoes, hat and gloves is included.

No horse-riding experience is required but, participants must be
reasonably fit and weigh a maximum of 90kg (14.17 stone)
The minimum age to ride an Icelandic Horse is 12 years old.
Sami Cultural Tours
Raidu Encounter With The
Reindeer:
After a short transfer to a reindeer camp you will
enjoy a presentation of Sami culture by your local guide. You will also have the
opportunity to feed the reindeer and to take a reindeer sled ride. Transfers by
scooter and sled as well as a traditional light lunch are included.

Excursion:
Experience handling and driving your own reindeer sled

Nature and Science tours
ICEMOOSE:
The ICEMOOSE project is financed by Sveaskog, the
Swedish Hunters Association and the ICEHOTEL, and run by the Swedish University
of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) aims to monitor the movement of Moose in Swedish
Lapland and to study the impact that climate change and tourism has on these
magnificent animals.
This excursion will take you on a guided tour by
minibus to the winter grazing lands of moose. Transfers, coffee and cake are
included.
- Duration: 4 hours
- Departures: 0830-1230hrs (Daily)

Dinner Under The Stars:
This tour, organised in cooperation with the Swedish
Institute of Space Physics, will take you to a wilderness camp in search of the
Northern Lights. Transfers and a three course evening meal with a glass of wine
are included.
- Duration: 4 hours
- Departures: 1700-2100hrs (Daily until 31 March)
- Price: £245.00 per person
Notes:
- The transfer to the wilderness camp will take approximately 1-hour the
route of which is determined by the weather conditions and chances for an
aurora sighting. If the Aurora is not seen on the outbound transfer, or
whilst at the wilderness camp, the tour will be extended by an hour to
search for the Aurora on the return to the ICEHOTEL.

Let yourself be guided into the magical world of ice
sculpting with sharp tools and professional guidance from our artists.

Ice driving:
A driving experience on ice, which allows you to
develop as a driver and provides an insight into the security systems that
modern cars are equipped with.

Minibus tours:
Aurora Sky Station in Abisko
Northern Lights Tour:
To the west of Kiruna, the mountains of the Abisko
National Park dominate the landscape. Located towards the summit of Mount Nuolja,
in the heart of the range, stands the Aurora Sky Station which at a latitude of
68.2¡ offers one of the finest platforms for viewing the Aurora Borealis away
from artificial lights.
A three-course evening meal, influenced by Nordic
cuisine, will be served in the Aurora Sky Station.
After dinner guests have time to view the Aurora
exhibition and to sit outside under the dark night sky. On a clear night,
hopefully the Northern Lights will b e dancing across the sky above.
- Duration: 7 ½ hours
- Available: Daily (01Dec12-23Mar13 except 24Dec12 and 31Dec12). Pick-up
at the ICEHOTEL at 1630hrs and from Hotel Ripan and Hotel Arctic Eden at
1700hrs.
- Price: £250.00 per adult / £125.00 per child (8-15yrs)
Notes:
- The minibus transfer from Kiruna to Abisko takes c.1 hour. Pick-up from
Hotel Ripan, Hotel Arctic Eden and the ICEHOTEL.
- The rental of overalls, boots and gloves are included.
- The Aurora Sky Station is accessed by a chair lift. A balaclava is
recommended for the 20-minute climb as you are unprotected from the
elements.
- The evening meal includes soft drinks. Alcoholic drinks can be purchased
locally.
- The Aurora Sky Station has a small exhibition about the Northern Lights.
Short presentations about the exhibition take place during the evening and
guests are free to attend at their leisure.
- The chair lift to the Aurora Sky Station will not operate in poor
weather conditions. In this instance dinner will be served at the Abisko STF
Mountain Station.
- Minimum 2 participants. Maximum 17 guests.
Elk tour:
This tour is ideally booked as a mid-holiday transfer
or as a departure transfer.
The valley of the River Kalix has a large moose
population and this excursion provides the opportunity to see these animals in
close proximity, whilst learning about the landscape and fauna which attract
them.
Although we cannot guarantee a sighting it is worth
noting that the chance of seeing moose is high. In fact, one tour spotted 57
moose.
- Duration: 4 hours
- Available: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (01Dec12-07Apr13). Pick-up from
the ICEHOTEL at 0745hrs and 0800hrs from the Hotel Ripan and Hotel Arctic
Eden.
- Price: £88.00 per adult / £44.00 per child (8-12yrs)
