Sweden - feedback received

Very high standard of customer service, very professional, helpful, cheerful and
very informative at all times. A Real pleasure to use such a friendly
company - A job well done! All information was very informative and
covered all questions which I had. The whole experience was just
fantastic, very well planned and executed beautifully - a really fantastic
holiday and I have to say I was so impressed with your constant excellent
customer service. It has been an absolute pleasure having dealings with
your company - Many thanks, a million times over.

Thanks for organising all this. The arrangements worked perfectly and the ICE
Hotel is well worth a visit. We had a great time. We'll fill in the response
form you sent, as there are a few comments that might be useful for future
travellers.

I would like to say how organised my trip to the Nordic Lights Hotel & Ice Hotel
was. All travel & accommodation were exceptional. All documentation provided by
Robert Broad was helpful & informative.

The Icehotel was
amazing. It was a truly unique experience. The arrangements were well
executed so thank you to you for that. I would recommend both it and your
services. The whole service was excellent.

Just returned from the ice hotel. All I can say is "Wow! what a holiday". It was
an experience like no other. The first night we stayed in an ice room,
incidentally, I slept like a log, then the remainder of the holiday in warm
accommodation. The staff were very helpful and always polite and spoke really
good English. We went on the reindeer safari, snowmobile ride to see the
northern lights and a dog sled ride. The guides were very knowledgeable and was
always ready with an answer to any questions that was fired at them. We sampled
the local food, reindeer, moose and salmon which was always cooked to
perfection. My only disappointment was that when we went on the snowmobile trek
in search of the northern lights, we didn't see any, but after a dish of moose
stew, a cup of ligonberry juice and a slice of cake it didn't seem to matter
that the northern lights were being a bit elusive. We did see a glimpse of them
another night, albeit a green light in the sky for a few minutes, With the
temperatures between -5c to -15c we definitely needed the ski suits that were
supplied. I would recommend that you take advantage of the ski suit and boots
supplied. Glad of them on the dog sled and snowmobile. We really enjoyed
ourselves and couldn't begin to describe how privledged we felt in being there.
I was surprised to learn that there wasn't a bureau de change at the ice hotel
complex. The nearest bank was in Kiruna 20k away. Direct flights may be an
advantage if this is at all possible too. This was only minor blip and I can only
thank you for being so helpful in booking our tours and making our holiday go
without a hitch.

One of the most fantastic experiences of our lives! The Icehotel is wonderful
and the staff were brilliant! Perhaps you could warn people quite how expensive
the restaurant is!
Our comments - We have included details on what to expect with
regards to costs in resort in our updated information booklet, provided
exclusively to our clients and written by Kirsty in our office who has visited
the Ice Hotel twice.

First time we have booked using the internet but every query and request
received excellent service. Also, the booking of ice bar by staff at Robert Broad was very easy. all trips booked went without a hitch. it really was a very
special holiday thankyou.

The ice hotel is an absolute must for a visit and
for a stay. Recommend the ice suites as you get warm accommodation to change
before night in ice hotel. Standard rooms only provide lockers. Husky ride from
airport superb, and impressed with the saab ice driving as they give you your
own car, no instructor with you!

Dave,
Thank
you so much for your efforts, you have been absolutely fantastic !
I can see
why your agency were finalists
in the National Agent Achievement Awards 2004, 2006 & 2007. You should
win it in my opinion.
Historically, I have always travelled through *****. This year, with
regards to the most important holiday of my life, they were absolutely
hopeless. You have managed to achieve what they could not and exceed my
expectations. The speed of service, delivery and efficiency you have
provided has been world class and again I thank you.

We had a wonderful holiday at the IceHotel. The
hotel itself was amazing with a magical atmosphere and the trips - wow - lots of
unique new experiences, husky sled, reindeer driving, moose safari, snow mobile
trip. A fantastic 40th birthday present to ourselves

My sister and I chose your company to take us to
the Ice Hotel in mid-February for an eagerly anticipated to break. Our
spouses thought us mad as we don't like the cold and, as for sleeping on
ice....! We took your advice and packed our thermals, including thermal
gloves and socks to wear inside the cold weather clothing we were issued
with on arrival, plus warm layers - and were as warm as toast, even during
the night sleeping in the Ice House. Those Arctic sleeping bags are the
business. All the staff were helpful and caring. There were absolutely no
hitches - everything was so well organised. The restaurant menu was
excitingly different and the food wonderful. The animal handlers were so
caring and our safety was ensured on all activities. In some free time we
walked to the village and visited the church, which is a gem and decorated
in the Sami style. Snowmobiling across the lake and along forest tracks at
night was an incredible experience. When we stopped the silence was awesome.
An extra day would have been great - perhaps next time!
I took my digital compact camera which I tucked inside the pocket of my
snowsuit when not in use, and the batteries gave no problem. That way I had
no heavy camera around my neck when travelling by sledge or snowmobile. In
mid February the length of daylight hours was comparable to the UK and fine
for photography. Now it all seems a wonderful dream - except that I have my
photos to prove I really went

Myself and my partner went to The Ice Hotel in
Sweden for 3 nights and had an excellent time. On arrival at Kiruna our
suitcase was broken and the customer service for SAS Airlines gave us a new one
free!! We then were transferred with much ease to the resort. Whilst driving
to the resort the views were absolutely breathtaking and inhaling the clean air
left us short of breath (shows you how much pollution we are used to in
London!). On arrival we were given our 'warm accommodation' and the room was of
a good standard and the en suite was great. We then went down to the luggage
house where we were given our 'ice suits' for the duration of our stay. When I
read reviews that it is a good idea to bring your own gloves and hats they were
right, the good thing is that you can purchase any necessary items of clothing
to insulate yourself - you can get them from the Ice Hotel shop onsite.
On the second day we had two activities -
Reindeer racing and the snow-mobile Northern Lights tour.... this day was one of
the coldest days they have had for a long time and it was -40 degrees.. so we
had our own thermals, normal clothes, our own hats and gloves - on top of that
we then had the snow suits and a balaclava and their gloves - trust me you
needed it... it was so cold I could not easily take photos - as soon as my hand
was out of the three gloves I had on I could not activate them to press the
button. Was it cold? Yes. Did I enjoy the experience? Without doubt. I now
feel hot in London and it's -2 degrees... weird how your body becomes
acclimatised. The Ice Hotel itself is breathtaking but for me the best thing
was the peace and quiet, the excitement of the activities and the fantastic
staff they have working there.
My boyfriend said he would love to go back over
Christmas because Kiruna looks so perfect with all the snow. I spoke to many of
the staff and they said when the Ice Hotel melts and the lakes are no longer
blocks of ice they all do white water rafting - something I'd be interested to
do too. The only downside of the whole holiday was the expense. A drink in the
Ice Bar will set you back about £8 and most drinks in the normal bar are about
£6. Very easy to spend a lot of money!! An excellent time and would
definitely go on another Robert Broad holiday.

Our recent trip to Stockholm, followed by the
Icehotel was a surprise for my boyfriend's 30th Birthday.
I wanted to do something that was exciting, memorable and unique, plus the cold
climate was a must as he adores the cold weather and snow! I had heard great
reports from friends who have visited the Icehotel, and wondered if the fact it
had been 'bigged up' would somehow spoil the wow factor for me - I could not
have been more wrong....It is absolutely breathtaking and is a magical setting
for a holiday. The Chronicles of Narnia might well have been set in the area
around Jukkasjarvi.
We had one night in an Ice suite which was beautifully decorated with an ice
sculpture of a "virgin angel", and spent a surreal night on a bed of ice (though
it had a soft foam mattress, covered in reindeer skins) snuggled up in our
thermals and a romantic double sleeping bag! A not bad nights sleep was
aided by a few delicious vodka cocktails in ice glasses from the famous icebar,
and a hearty meal from the Icehotel's restaurant (not the cheapest, but good
food, in the warm). We were woken with a local speciality, hot lingonberry
juice, in time to get up and ready or our morning of snow shoeing up a little
hill to gain wonderful views over Jukkasjarvi and the river Torne from which the
Icehotel is made each year.
After warming up in the Sauna, we were ready for our next excursion on a
Reindeer safari, which was a great insight into the lifestyle and traditions of
the local Sami people who herd the Reindeers. After meeting Rudolf an his
cronies, we got to taste reindeer cooked traditionally inside a huge Teepee like
tent ( a Lavuu).
Our final trip was a Northern lights snowmobile excursion which was hugely
enjoyable and we were lucky enough to see the Northern lights for ourselves.
Our second night was spent in a warm, cosy Nordic cabin, which has a
mini-kitchen area/microwave so we were able to make our own snacks - a good way
to cut the cost a bit.
Stockholm itself was also well worth a visit and we enjoyed our stay at the
Nordic Sea hotel (home to the Ice bar in Stockholm). A guided boat tour was one
of the highlights given us great views of the city and its many islands. The old
town was very quaint and wandering around the cobbled streets was very
enjoyable, and we found lots of nice places for coffee/food.
All in all the trip will go down as the best mini break either of us has ever
had and we could not recommend it strongly enough.
